aka Tam Kung Miao.

After a visit to a orang asli village nearby, we decided to have lunch at a small-town known as Tanjung Tualang. This small town was once a bustling tin mining area in the early 1900s. And today, it is more famously known for its large freshwater prawns.

After a good lunch at the nearby restaurant, I’ve decided to have a walk around till I came upon a Pai Lou leading to a temple. This temple is dedicated to the worship of its patron deity Tan Gong / 譚公. This deity is known to have special ability to forecast the weather and to heal diseases. It has a large hall right in front of the temple for it festival purposes.

Its interior is fill with wall painting of deities. These includes The Eighteen Arhats / Shi Ba Lou Han / 十八羅漢 and 8 Immortals / Ba Xian / 八仙. There is no historical record on when this temple is establish but there is a bell hanging in the temple engraved with the date GuangXu year 33 (1907). It also states that this bell is donated to the temple on an auspicious date by a company called Yi Shun (義順公司). This would give some clue to it founding date.
