Fu Lin Gong-Bagan / 福林宮-峇眼.
Located along Jalan Muar, Bagan, Johor
It was the Pai lou / 牌樓, the Chinese gateway leading to the temple that caught my attention. In the compound, It has a stage on it side for festive purposes and at the back it has a shine with three tablet. I am not sure what or who these tablet means or belong too.
This temple may been refurbish but the altars in the prayer hall looks very antique. Inside the temple, there is many wall painting of events that happens to certain gods during it’s time. Usually these painting serves as a reminder or not lessons of courage and righteousness to individuals.
In the main hall, worship on the main altar should be deities of San Wang Wu Di / 三王五帝. On it’s left is an altar Da Bo Gong / 大伯公 and the right is an altar for Zhu Sheng Niang Niang / 註生娘娘.
Placed on the main altar is a divination tool that is not commonly seen nowadays. This particular tool is use for Fuji Divinition Also known as Planchette writing / Spirit Writing and is known as Ji Bi / 乩筆 or in direct english translation, The Medium’s Pen. The main important thing about this type of divination is the combination of heaven and human as one which is known in chinese as Tian Ren He Yi / 天人合一.
