Fu Quan Miao-Batang Kali / 福泉廟-峇冬加里

Fu Quan Miao-Batang Kali / 福泉廟-峇冬加里.

Location:- Kampung Bukit Chandang, Batang Kali, Selangor / 峇冬加里,雪蘭莪.

Registered as Persatuan Penganut Dewa Kuan Sheng Ti Batang Kali in 1994.

Travelling from Fraser Hill to Kuala Lumpur, we stopped upon this usually quite village of Batang Kali for some evening tea. This village is known now Kampung Bukit Chandang after a change of name from Kampung Baru Batang Kali.

Batang Kali was mainly developed due to the rise in tin mining and rubber plantation in the 19th century. There isn’t much history I could uncover beside the 1948 massacre tragedy that you could search online for more detail.

Located a top the village with a green hill as it’s background, this temple has been the place of worshipped by the nearby local for many years.

It has a Pai Lou / 牌樓 in front of the temple that can be seen from the nearby main road. A wooden staged use for its festival purposes is also constructed nearby with two stone lion guarding the temples entrance.

The temple caretaker were about to close up the place when we arrived but he was kind enough to let us document this premise before doing so.

This temple houses three altars in the main prayer hall with painting of the Si Da Tian Wang / 四大天王 on both wall. The centre altar consist of three sections. Enshrined on the center section is their main patron deity, the chinese god of prosperity and war, Guan Sheng Da Di / 關聖大帝 also commonly known as Guan Di / 關帝. The left section is dedicated to the worshipped of Liao Fu Da Ren / 廖府大人 and Huang Li Da Shi / 黄利大使 while the section on the right is dedicated to Tong Yuan Zun Wang / 通遠尊王 and Xuan Tian Shang Di / 玄天上帝. The altar to the far right is dedicated to the worshipped of Fu De Zheng Shen / 福德正神 or more commonly know as Da Bo Gong / 大伯公 and the altar to the left is dedicated to the founder of this temple.
