Siang Kong Shan-Bukit Bakri / 仙公山-武吉巴口.
Pinyin – Xian Gong Shan.
Location:- Bukit Bakri , Muar, Johor / 武吉巴口, 麻坡, 柔佛州.
My first visit was about 3-4 years ago. It was closed and unmaintained. Grass was overgrown and there were many wild pitcher plant by the side of the road. I also remember been question by the police for visiting a long abandon place.
The visit this year was pleasant. The temple has set up a committee and they have been up-keeping the place. Grass are kept short and minor paint works were done. I was told by the caretaker that they were looking for donation to rebuild this place again to it’s great glory days.
It has a pretty large piece of land. According to locals, this land is actually an old mining hill. It was said that the owner build this temple upon instruction of certain deities that had help him through difficult times via his dreams. Due to its height and huge land, photography session here is nice.
Its main altar upstairs is devoted to Du Fu Da Ren / 杜府大人. An altar at the bottom level is devoted to Da Bo Gong / 大伯公 and Goddess Guan Yin Pu Sa / 觀音菩薩.
Some photos are updated on 2013.
Below:- The first photo were taken in 2013 while the second is taken in 2010. Both are the main altar on the upper floor.
Below:- A nice view.
