Ci De Miao-Kukup / 慈德廟-龜咯.

Location:- Kukup, Pontian, Johor / 龜咯, 笨珍, 柔佛州.

Aka Rumah Berhala Tze Teck Kukup Laut.

After visiting Tanjung Piai which is also known as the Southern Most Tip of Mainland Asia, we arrive at this small fishing village late and decided to put up a night here. After settling down, we decide to do some walkabout and we came upon a few chinese temple in this village that is mostly build on stilt. Photos of this temple were taken in two session.

This temple is build with a watchtower at it back overlooking the village and towards the sea. It is about three storey high and the view from above is very pleasant to the eyes too.

At its front, a stage is at its final construction progress and a small shrine at it’s side is build devoted to the worship of Hai Lung Wang / Dragon king/ 海龍王. Here it is known as Si Hai Lung Wang / 四海龍王. This deity is known to bless fisherman with good harvest and safe journey at sea. During the time of imperial china, Lung Wang is also a patron deities to many ferry men’s and water carriers.

On the inside, the background of the altar is painted to look like a cave and the art work is so realistic that it almost real.

Three deity is worshipped on this altar. From left to right, they are known as Huang Lao Xian Shi / 黄老仙師, Da Sheng Fo Zu / 大聖佛祖 And Tai Shang Lao Jun / 太上老君.

Pinyin:- Fu Xing Gong aka Ang Kio Hock heng Keng / 红桥復興宮 or Pertubuhan Penganut Hock Heng Keng.

Location:- Kampung Seri Menanti, Muar, Johor / 紅橋, 麻坡, 柔佛州.

I’ve long planed to revisit this temple as it was closed during my previous visit sometime back. It left a great impression on me as during that time, one of it’s signage suggest that this temple is devoted a deity that is rarely seen. Situated along the johor side of federal route 5, keep a look out for this temple as it is located near a curve.

Upon arrival, You would be greeted by this nice premise with a gold painted joss furnace by its side. A stage for its festival used is build at its front yard. There are two shrine located by the side of this temple. One is these is devoted to the worshipped of Tai Sui / 太歲 while the other is devoted to Wu Ye Yuan Shuai / 五爺元帥.

This temple consist of two prayer hall. In the front hall, parade banner’s are placed in their stands next to the offering tables with an altar is beautifully build with a simple design devoted to their main patron deity, Tai Bao Ye / 太保爺 . This deity is a set of twins and from a bit of research, one is known as Tai Bao Ye Gong / 太保爺公 and the other is known as She Ren Ye Gong / 舍人爺公. So together they are known as Tai Bao She Ren Ye Gong / 太保舍人爺公. This temple celebrate it’s annual birthday/festival of this deity on the lunar calendar 12 day of the 10 month of every year. Another unique deity known as Liu Jia Zhen Ren Shun Zheng Wang Ye / 六甲真人順正王公 is also worshiped on this altar. Other deities worshiped on this altar includeds Fu De Zheng Shen / 福德正神, Lord Guan Di / 關帝, Fa Chu Gong /法主公 and etc.

A framed paper written with information about it’s festive dates inside the temple suggested to me that this place of worship could have been establish before or in 1961.

The back hall in this temple is devoted to Goddess Guan Yin Pu Sa / 觀音菩薩. Among others worshiped here includes Zhu Sheng Niang Niang / 注生娘娘, Lord Buddha / Fo Zu / 佛祖 , Tian Hou Sheng Mu / 天后聖母,etc.

Location:- Bakariah, Muar, Johor / 峇加利亞, 麻坡, 柔佛

Aka. PERTUBUHAN PENGANUT DEWA KIM CHUAN TIAN.

I first visited this place a few months back and it was still in their last stages of construction. At that time, I had already imagine that this temple would be very elegant upon its completion.

Well, on this new visit, the temple has already been completed. As expected, exquisite . It had already been officially open to public on January 23rd 2013 / 十二月十二日壬辰年.

It’s compound, which is quite big, has two shrine which is builded devoted to the 5 General / 五爺 and it’s local deity, Na To Gong / 嗱督公. A pagoda shaped incense furnace is also builded on its front side.

The facade has huge pillars along with murals of chinese mythological creature and deities at it’s side. A large set of doors with the image of it’s “Men Shen / 門神” painted on it leads to the main prayer hall. I guess the height of the door is about 10-12 feet as the door handle is already 5-6 feet high. According to a devotee, most of the murals and ornaments are brought in from China.

Wood carvings on its altar were beautifully carve by the artisan from china. The signage above the altar is placed below a beautiful crafted golden dragon making the altar very elegant. It’s main altar consist of three top section. On the left is a section devoted to Tian Hou Niang Niang / 天后娘娘 also commonly known as Mazu / 媽祖 along with her devoted servant Qian Li Yan / 千里眼 and Shun Feng Er / 順風耳. On the center altar, Jin Wang Ye / 金王爺, Ling An Zun Wang / 靈安尊王, it main patron deity Jin Shun Da Ren / 金順大人 and Nian Wang Ye / 輦王爺. There are other deities placed on this section of the altar. And the last section is devoted to Da Bo Gong / 大伯公.

As this placed is still new, I believe on my next return trip, more ornaments will be added.
There are very little information about it main patron deity Jin Shun Da Ren / 金順大人. Do leave a comment if you have move infomation about this god or this temple. I would really appreciate it.
